When importing a book in Japanese and using the AI re-split function, in many novels, character names written in Kanji end up separated depending on the name.
For example, in the novel I’m currently reading, the protagonist’s name is 慶司 (Keiji), and when performing the split, all instances of his name appear separately as 慶 and 司, as if they were two separate words.
Is there a quick way to edit the lesson and do a ‘Replace All’ for all instances of 慶(space)司 with 慶司? This tends to happen in most imports, and fixing it sentence by sentence is very tedious.
Thank you @zoran ! Is the only way to edit a lesson by editing it sentence by sentence? If all the text were in the same textbox (like the one used for translations), maybe we could use a text editor or something similar to replace text. Does that exist right now? If not, is there a possibility to export a lesson to txt and then import it back?
Thank you, @zoran ! This would work for me, but I think it doesn’t function properly. For example, if I click to regenerate lesson 19031321, replace all references to “典 行” with “典行” (40 occurrences), click on “View Lesson”, it saves, but when I go back to edit the lesson, I don’t see the changes applied; it still appears as it did before regenerating the lesson. Am I doing something wrong?
@zoran I know what happened. When regenerating the new text, LingQ parses again the words and separates them again, splitting the character’s name that had been combined with my manual replacement. Is my assumption correct? This wouldn’t work as a workaround in Japanese
