How long did you take to learn your first foreign language?

Looks like it’s not!

But that’s my personal viewpoint, anyways! Waaaay to simplified and primitive approach to such a purely formalized issue as language acquiring ! =)))

Notice, I never call it ‘learning’ ! As it is possible to ‘cram up’ whatever you want, however, it has nothing to do with any legit acquiring!

"Waaaay to simplified and primitive approach to such a purely formalized issue as language acquiring "

The irony…

Paul, I’m a real idiot, I am! =))

I was about to say, '… to such a POORLY formalized issue…! =))))

It’s not how many hours, it’s how you use those hours. :stuck_out_tongue:

Hi ! =)))

This was exactly my point ! =))) You are the one who surely got my idea! =))

Chris Lonsdale gives some great insights into learning any language in 6 months; he relates how he learned Chinese in 6 months - including writing letters in that time. Check out:

If you want to hear him give the same talk in Chinese: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BENA8QSPmLY
