I came 1755th
I only do a few minutes per day so it’s to be expected I guess.
I did around 4 hours every day and still managed to get absolutely smoked by a couple of people!
Something dodgy going on I reckon… ![]()
I think the top person in the challenge had over 2 million coins.
Cool story
I ended up #66 in the global rankings, #7 in team rankings, and our team ended up as #2 in language team rankings. I did LingQ every day, anywhere from 1 to 6 hours a day!
For half of the time of the league I didn’t realize you had to click the “daily bonus” BEFORE you started learning for the day, I thought I had to click it AFTER so it would multiply the points I had earned that day after the fact. That lost me a huge chunk of points. I’m sure many people were in the same boat.
I also have never really figured out how to watch videos and get LingQ to count the hours spent as points, I input the time watched by hand and that did not seem to earn me any points.

WHAT?!
I always waited until after my study to click the bonus
I even did some extra study when there was a good bonus.
On my team I was 246 of 842
Globally I was 2928 of 9117
So I was about in the top 1/3rd. And I suppose the reason that’s not higher is because I was doing two languages every day and only one of them counted.
As for my team (German)… oof! Every day we fell another rung. It was pretty discouraging. In the end we barely managed to look more alive than Latin.
30th in Japanese, 622 global. I didnt know about the cup until halfway through the month, nothing gets me motivated like numbers going up lol.
I really hope they do this again soon.
I was a modest #616 in the global ranking, but considering I almost only study during my commutes it’s not too bad
And my team won, which is a blast!
This event has truly been a lot of fun, mixing collaboration with competion really helped me push myself these past few weeks. Looking forward for something similar!
I didn’t even realize there were bonuses until halfway through, and unfortunately since I started the cup on my iPad I could only interact with it there, meaning I couldn’t activate it for most of the day when I LingQ on my phone…
Considering I was very relaxed doing it, I ended up above 1,000. Yay! ![]()
Congrats to the Polish team! ![]()
This was fun though! It’s the only World Cup I watched!
I was #18 globally and #1 in my language team (French)
. I wonder if people on my team were as competitive cause I smoked em all! (Shoutout to my runner ups Matthew123 and dudethefun!
)
Wow 18th globally is very good - how many hours per day were you doing?
