Hotkey to make LingQs known (on mac)

(Sorry if this isn’t the right place to post this. Just let me know if I should post it in a different section.)

I just figured something out that might be helpful to some other people. I have been wishing that there was a hotkey to move a LingQ (yellow word) to known while scanning through all of my LingQs when reading, but have just been using the mouse until now.

Apparently on a mac (and I’m sure there’s a way to do it on a PC) you can turn on a function that makes the numerical section of the keyboard into a mouse. As part of this it makes the number 5 click the left mouse button. This way if you leave your cursor over the number 4 while scanning through your LingQs you can just press number 5 on the keyboard and it makes the LingQ known. Here’s a link to turning on this functionality:

Hope it’s helpful!

This can be done on a PC. I don’t know why I never thought of this! For some reason, when I activate it and hit the 5 it presses both right and left buttons. I’m too tired to figure out what’s causing it.

To find mouse keys on a PC go >Control Panel > Accessibility Options > Mouse > check “Use Mouse Keys” and then adjust speed to preference after clicking the settings box.
