(Given a sentence with entirely base form words and an English translation, choose each words correct form to create the grammatically correct sentence)

Small error in the French preposition game: de becomes d’ when it’s followed by a vowel.
Example:
BAD: il refuse de avancer
GOOD: il refuse d’ avancer

Thank you for fixing the case sorter. And thank you for the new Sentence Builder! This is the most helpful game of the lot so far. I’ve been studying Ukrainian for almost 5 years, and the Sentence Builder is one of the most helpful and innovative apps I’ve seen for learning cases in that time. Very nice work!

I’m looking forward to seeing more games along these lines, if you are inclined to make them. What do I mean? The utility of the Sentence Builder is that it trains more realistic output than games that focus on isolated words. Working at the sentence level, rather than just the word level, cements the concepts better, in my opinion. Thank you again!

If I were to make one suggestion, after using it several times today, it would be to retune the backend software to generate greater variety of sentences. I get a lot of repeats. Thanks!

Thanks for the feedback.

Need to give credit to my tutor again for that idea, he had me drilling these offline with a ‘construct the sentence using only base words’ method. The multi choice definitely makes it a bit easier and the immediate feedback has also been quite beneficial.

Right now I’m just manually generating data for these games as this games feature is very new. Sooner or later ill just let an LLM periodically add new data to the games, which will expand the data sets enormously over time. In the meantime, I’ve added 300 new sentences to that sentence builder game in Ukrainian, which should keep it fresh for a little while.

  • added new Story Builder game to Finnish, Ukrainian, Russian, Estonian, Hungarian. (Similar to sentence builder but each sentence connects the previous one to form a short story)
  • added a large amount of new Sentence Builder questions to Finnish, Ukrainian, Russian, Estonian, Hungarian
  • added more game data to Estonian, Hungarian
  • changed website to a lazy dynamic loading method because the data sets are becoming quite large

PROSPECTIVE

  • Backend data migration completed. Should have automatically expanding data sets completed within a few days.
  • The automatically expanding data sets may be for subscribers only due to the ongoing costs involved with LLM generation. Original data sets will remain free either way.
  • Also looking at some subscriber only games such as listening practice with text to speech, labelling items in multi-object generated images and generating unique data sets based off imported lessons.

  • added a new game – ‘Guess the meaning of the expression/idiom’ – to Finnish, Ukrainian, Russian, German, French, Italian, Swedish, Danish, Norwegian BokmĂ„l (limited initial data - approx. 15 idioms per language)
  • added a new game – ‘guess the punchline of a joke/riddle’ – to Finnish
  • backend is now generating 10 new questions and 1 story set per day for every game/language combination. (awaiting frontend connection)

Hi Rooster, heads-up that the Sentence Builder is starting to generate nonsensical grammar descriptions. The grammar looks correct to me, despite the weird descriptions (e.g., the last word’s description says “Accusative neuter singular landscape basin destination terminal placeholder.”

thanks. Looks like the AI lost the plot for the last 200 questions or so. Problem seemed exclusive to that larger Ukrainian sentence data set. Has been fixed now. Shouldn’t be an issue with the upcoming auto expanding sets.

With game data generation no longer taking so much time I can focus on adding more game types and relevant exercises.
Automated review/corrections will help to maintain high question data quality for subscribers over time.
A Part of Speech guide for every language is now available

Thank you for your work! It seems Russian doesn’t have all declensions. Is there a plan to add all of them and verb conjugation?
