Frustrated with looking for material

Not sure, I just opened an article and didn’t see anything about a summary, but there is a Simplify with AI I have never used before. Maybe there is something about Summary in the help. Thanks!

Thank you everyone for your encouragement and ideas, and resources. It appears that to get the most out of LingQ it needs to be supplemented with things like ChatGPT and NotebookLM etc. My wish list for LingQ would be better filters for readability and country of origien of the material. I realize thought, that the nature of LingQ pulling material form all over the place makes this filtering difficult.

It’s a judgement call. Sometimes it pays off. The lessons I’m creating from the audio I generated in NotebookLM has helped me stay interested in topics I need to learn, but the original sources just weren’t engaging.

Besides that, the time I take with technology would not be time studying. I’m not that disciplined. It’s a fun exercise that helps me get more out of my study time.

That’s probably true, but dreamingspanish still uploads a lot of videos to their youtube channel for free. As I mentioned before you can copy the url to the video to a youtube to mp3 converter website (just do a search or I can recommend one if you like). Download the mp3, then import as an audio lesson into LingQ. During import LingQ will create a transcription for the audio so you now have both something you can read and listen. No video unfortunately, but you can always work through the lesson and then try going back to the video to see how much you’ve learned.

This can certainly be the case, but if you are spending hours trying to find material, then you’re not getting anywhere either =). Also, it really doesn’t take too long to ask chatgpt to come up with a story at such and such level. Or ask it to take a link to an article or whatever and summarize it or create a dialogue. I, unfortunately, have the same problem. I have very little time to study languages, but even a small amount a day adds up. It just take longer overall.

I like the “Spanish Language Coach” podcast, called “Spanish Intermediate podcast” in LingQ. 48 lessons. Enjoy!

I would strongly recomend the “simplify lesson” option. It delivers a simpler and shorter text in no time at all! jB

I have found pretty good luck with How to spanish with ana and david. They speak at a pretty casual rate so nothing too fast. But worse case scenario you could just start reading the transcripts to try and pick up on some words? I have found reading helps my listening and listening helps my reading since theyre both input. Best of luck.

You could see if there’s anything to your liking on bloomlibrary - Bloom Library: Home

It’s been my go-to for cebuano, but spanish has mountains and mountains of content, so it’s hard to imagine it being necessary.
