Forced Spanish

Every time I visit LingQ, the Spanish language is set as my current active and will not go away even after deleting it via user settings/options. I am not learning Spanish, I do not need Spanish to be automatically chosen every time I visit this website. Thank you

Looks like you are going to have to learn Spanish. I can’t think of another solution to this problem.

LOL sorry I was imagining you’d been captured and forced to learn Spanish against your will in some facility.

I hope you get your issue sorted out.

That is what has happened. Mark has him locked in the basement at LingQ’s secret arctic lair and is forcing him to watch telenovelas all day while he creates LingQs.

LOL

Sounds like you are opening LingQ with direct URL that has Spanish language code in it (ES) and that automatically re-opens Spanish as your study language.

yep. Every time we click on a link from another user here, that language is automatically added to our list. It happened to me with Portuguese or Greek. Before we were only seeing the interface differently but the language wasn’t added automatically to our languages.

@davidroccato No, that’s a different thing. URL has both interface language code and study language code. If you open different interface language link, it will change the interface language, but same goes for the study language too. That’s how it always worked.

Ah ok, I didn’t know that difference, it never happened to me that opening a link posted by a user added me a new language. But it happened twice in these days. Now I know there is this difference, thanks.

Thank you. I will clear my links and go straight to Lingq.com from now on.
