For those Native Arabic speakers here, what overlooked Arabic contemporary lit. would you suggest?

I was pondering for a time at looking at learning Arabic in the future but then I was thinking besides some of the older readings what good/great contemporary literature is there?
After all, many Islamic countries have such high literary rates I can’t believe there aren’t some extraordinary authors some of you can recommend.
On TV I really like that “Justice” show on Netflix and I’m sure I can find more where that came from for TV but for literature I am at a loss.

I’m no expert, and not an Arab speaker, but you probably can’t go wrong with the poetry of Darwish. As for modern novels, I’ve heard The Pessoptimist by Emile Habibi mentioned more than once.
