I have my profile set to Esperanto and am learning Italian. When I click on MANY Italian words, the Esperanto word generated is nonsense. It’s not a word in Esperanto, and sometimes it’s loosely based on the original Italian word I’m trying to look up.
Sometimes the real, correct Esperanto translation appears for a brief second and then it gets replaced by a nonsense word without me having clicked on anything. In those times, the correct translation does not re-appear.
Examples:
Italian word that I clicked on: maledetta
Esperanto word that appears: maldita (not a word in Esperanto)
Actual correct Esperanto translation: malbenita
Italian: osava
Esperanto that appears: osadis (not a word in Esperanto)
Actual correct Esperanto: aŭdacis
Italian: uscì
Esperanto that appears: usis (not a word in Esperanto)
Actual correct Esperanto: eliris
There are tons of Esperanto dictionaries out there, including Hvortaro which is Italian-Esperanto-Italian, and Majstro which is many languages including Esperanto. I would love to see if this issue were fixed because right now I’m spending a lot of time looking up the Italian words in Hvortaro and copy-pasting the translations into LingQ since LingQ’s translations are incorrect.
