Esperanto or english?

I think that “most” learners speak in a kind of Ibero-Mediterranean accent (Portuguese/Spanish/Italian). Good or bad, a large part of the lexikon is Romance, and it would feel unnatural (for me at least!) to say the words in Russian/Swahili/Irish accent. But it’s just my opinion. Some people can adopt their way of speaking to any kind of “standard”, others don’t even try.

@Vera yes you could say that there is one. I’d say it sounds a bit like spanish-italian and some words/letters sound a bit like russian or eastern-europe. An Esperantist friend of mine says it sounds a bit like Ukranian, but that just a few people know about that lol
