Edit Lesson Not Saving Changes (Arabic)

The newest version of the lesson editor for a while was working much better than previous versions. It was much easier to copy/paste in the entire text and/or modify the contents to correct errors.

Over the past month or so, the editor is not consistently saving changes. Often it will make errors with punctuation in Arabic text. The editor is adding a space before commas or periods and removing the space after that it so those are connected to the following word. This is happening with correct source text copied in and when this is fixed in the editor, when you click Save and View Lesson, it restores the incorrect spaces.

I don’t know if this is an issue unique to right-to-left content or if other languages are having similar issues. Every once in a while, it will save properly but, most of the imported/created content is not using the correct spaces around punctuation. The text is still readable but it creates a distraction from just enjoying the content.

I have noticed similar issues when working with Arabic text, especially because right-to-left text can behave differently when punctuation and spaces are involved.

The fact that the editor sometimes saves correctly but then restores the wrong spacing after clicking Save and View makes it seem more like an editor or formatting issue than a problem with the original text.

Hopefully the team can look into the RTL handling, because even small punctuation changes can make properly formatted Arabic text look distracting.
