Don’t know whether I am doing something wrong: after listening to the audio, the cursor doesn’t jump to the text box. This way I tend to type in a void before I notice that nothing is happening. This makes the whole business very slow.

The cursor has never actually automatically jumped to the text field, so instead after listening to the audio just be sure to click in the text field below before you start typing.
If you use the keyboard to control the dictation cards you can centre the cursor in the text field and then use the Tab key to play the audio. This keeps the cursor in the text field.
I hadn’t used the dictation tab before (as I said, I have a laziness problem…) So, thank you both!
