Clueless

Any clues as to why the English language icon (British flag) keeps popping up at the top of my page witout my making any adjustment to include “English” as a language I am studying on LingQ? Over the past 4 months or so I have deleted it 3 times. I’m just wondering if there is anything I could be dong on the site that is causing it to re-appear. Any clues?

@itesonia - In the current system, if you click on an English lesson then you are switched to the English slot. This is probably the explanation as to why it keeps popping up, and why other languages (like Chinese) probably haven’t appeared.

Hi Alex, what you say is indeed true. And in fact I did ONCE check out an English lesson, and a Chinese one! And indeed I got the corresponding flags pop up! Thanks for the clue but something else is going on. Fortunately this is more of an estehetic thing than something that is interfering with my use of LingQ. Cloudy yet sunny in Guadalajara…I hope it is pleasant wherever you are, too.

@itesonia - Perhaps a screenshot would help so we would be able to better understand the issue. If you see English, then go to the Account page and check if English shows up as one of your languages. If it does, you can switch to another language then delete English as a language to prevent it from showing up in the dropdown.

Thank you, Alex. I know how to get rid of the icon which indicates that I am studying English. I have deleted it on several occassions already. I was looking for clues as to what could be trigger its appearance in the first place. You have given me one clue. Thank you for that. I knew about that clue prior to this inquiry, from experience. This issue is such a small thing it probably doesn’t merit mentioning. I apologize for taking up so much of your time! I’m normally not so inconsiderate. Have a wonderful day, a wonderful week.
