Hello! I’m experiencing a problem I haven’t seen before: I can’t select quite a few words. I’m trying to study this lesson: Древний Рим за 20 минут, shared by PatricioIglesias, at the following link (if it works) Login - LingQ
I cannot select about a quarter of the words, and if I select a phrase, several of the words are left out. For the words the system ignores for some reason, I don’t even have the option to select the words. The mouse doesn’t highlight it or anything. Note this is not all of the words, maybe a quarter or so. Most words act fine.
Perhaps this is a peculiarity of this lesson in particular? I closed out of the page and reopened it, refreshed it, etc.
I reproduced the same error just now using the web version (from clicking on Caldazar’s link–because the topic sounds interesting).
In the second sentence, the words “нам” and “римлян” are unselectable.
(The word “которые” in that sentence has the wrong pronunciation when clicked on too, but at least it is clickable.)
And in the third sentence, the first word “А” is unselectable.
Plus the translator somehow is somehow misaligned also by sentence #10 (attempted to paste link in)
It is translating “собственным“ as “with“ and “Вергилием“ as “our” when in fact the words for “with our” are immediately preceding those words in the transcript.
Having gone further in the lesson, it looks like after unclickable words, the translator is misaligned too–it puts the AI-generated translation for the unclickable word onto the next word that is clickable. I just saw a word that had an AI-generated translation that was for the preceding word, but also a correct non-AI generated translation.
So the AI translator is apparently affected by whatever is causing some words to get missed.
