Cannot import Japanese lessons

I tried copying and pasting text and I tried importing a DOC file but all day today I cannot import a lesson. Problem is, reading texts is how I use this service. Don’t watch movies, don’t listen to podcasts — none of that. I import and read. Now if I cannot import and read, I cannot use this service.

Strange, we can’t identify any issue on our end. Do you still have the same problem?

Hey not sure if you have tried importing different text to see if its all text or just that specific text but a while back i had a problem with a specific lesson in Japanese and it was all because of a special character that for some reason lingq was not able to import. Maybe this may help you. I do hope that they figure out a way to solve that tho but it was driving me nuts. Here is the link to my issue. It was a problem with っ i still don’t have a real explanation on why lingq couldn’t import it but i did solve it –> Importing Text keeps failing

Who is “We” and who are you?

No, this problem is happening with various articles copied and pasted from the Asahi Shinbun website. These are all written in standard, modern Japanese and there are no strange characters. I have created countless lessons on LingQ before and this problem perists across different texts that I am trying to import. I cannot import. I only get “Import failed” messages.

“We” is the LingQ staff and zoran is a moderator, as can be seen by the shield right of his name (and gets displayed when hovering over it).

YOU can’t identify an issue. BUT I CANNOT use the service. I tried the same import technique — copy and paste text – on various news articles. I tried using Firefox, Chrome and Safari browsers. I get the same message on each. That means I cannot use this service anymore. Too bad. Please refund my money.

@6rsrNY Sorry to hear that. Feel free to reach us on support@lingq.com , let us know what exactly you are trying to import so we can test on our end. Your payment has been refunded.

こんにちは。ここ1-2週間ぐらい日本語のLingQで文章のインポートができません。「このコースのインポートに失敗しました」という

Hello. For the past week or two, I have been unable to import texts into LingQ for Japanese. I receive an error message saying, “Failed to import this course.” Could you please fix this issue?

@6rsrNY @FUSO I had no issues importing YouTube subtitles in the past. So for the sake of trying it, I just tried importing a random article from a japanese news site. I didn’t encounter any issues. From import to the point I could read it in LingQ it took 3 seconds.

Can you provide some example links of things where the import fails? If it works on my end but not on yours, it may help nailing down the issue.

Since then, I have updated my Apple software (26.4.2). However, the result was the same. I am still unable to import articles from text input or links. I tried deleting “Japanese” and downloading it again, but the result remained the same. “French” and “Spanish” are working without any issues. It is only “Japanese” that cannot be imported.

I am attaching the following links for your reference:

I was able to import the 1st and the 3rd link using the LingQ importer without any issues. The first one took a bit before it displayed, as it is quiet some chunk of text.
The second link I had to import manually, by copying the text. A bit uncomfortable, but it works. Maybe something on the site is blocking the app?!

I am using Windows 11 and the Chrome Browser.

@FUSO Are you on the latest app version?
