Can no longer use Lingq offline

For quite a few years I have been able to open multiple lessons in Lingq on my Android phones, and then have them all available to me when I am offline.

On my latest Android phone, this doesn’t work anymore. I did nothing special to make it work on previous phones, and I have searched settings to see if there is something that is clearing the cache automatically for me and can’t see anything.

Any insight on how I can get this very important to me functionality working again??

Thanks.

Adding: I’ve got 8GB of RAM and am using <20%of the 256GB of storage.

Thanks for reporting. We are looking into this.

Hi @JFC there is not specific setting for it, you just need to open lesson previously in online to be downloaded. Also if there is a YouTube video in lesson, it couldn’t be opened in offline.

They’re not YouTube videos.

I know that you need to open it online first for it to work offline. What I’m saying is that this is no longer working for me (after many years).

@JFC Can you please provide a bit more information. Are you unable to load a lesson at all? Or you are unable to interact with it (create LingQs, move to Known etc…)?

I was just about to report the same problem. One of my students lives in Cuba and has poor service. He usually downloads (opens) lessons ahead of time so he can study them later offline. Today he tells me neither he nor his wife is able to do this anymore. The text is there, but the audio has to download again. They are using an iphone and an android.

(These lessons all have separate audio files even though they most also include video.)

After I reported this, my students said that some of the lessons were beginning to behave like they should. When he downloaded them, the audio stayed downloaded.

@Jingle Thanks for the update!

@zoran Sorry for the delay. I am sometimes offline for weeks at a time, which is why this feature was so essential and why Lingq is basically useless for me now.

The previously opened lessons either don’t load at all, with the error message that only lessons previously opened on the device can be used offline, even though the lessons were previously opened on the device, or the text loads but not the audio.

@JFC If you go to app setting and check audio cache, is it cleared or are there any data?

Hi @JFC could you please help to define the case when it is permanently reproduce. Does issue happens when you study multiple lessons offline? When you study only one - is everything okay? Do you study the same course or different? Anything will be helpful. Thank you in advance :hibiscus:

Currently shows 109 mb.

Multiple or one lesson doesn’t seem to make a difference.

For example, I just tried to open the same lesson offline on my phone that I listened to about 12 hours ago, and I haven’t opened any other lesson since, and the audio will not play.

I then tried to open a lesson, from a different course, that I had listened to before the other one and it won’t play either.
