BUG importing text to an existing course changes picture

Normally when you import new text into an existing course it keeps the same picture that you had originally added but last night i added new lessons to my only text course and its a default picture now and im not sure if there is a way to manually change it but it worked fine before

You should be able to change the lesson image on the Edit Lesson page. Are you saying that you imported a lesson without an image and instead of taking course image it added a random one?

Thanks for bringing this up, scrubtaku. I also find this a problem. To add the course picture to a lesson, one has to: 1. open the lesson editor of each lesson, 2. click on the little icon of the current picture, 3. find the picture you want to use, 4, slide it onto the little window that pops up, and 4. make two more clicks to actually add the picture.
Please Zoran, allow us, when we make a new lesson, to add the course picture as an option at that time, and to save the lesson without actually opening it if we choose. I make new lessons ahead before I am ready to read them. I don’t want them to appear on my library page before I have begun to learn from them. I am sure I am not the only one who prefers to work this way.

Thanks Zoran. You replied while I was writing my comment (above). Yes, that is exactly what is happening.

@Ginkgo58 Thanks, we will have it fixed.

@Ginkgo58 I agree with you. Plus my vote

The course has a custom picture but the new lessons that i added to the same course had default pictures instead of the one that i added originally. Yes i can manually edit the default images but it was convenient to not have to do that.

This problem irritates me too,

@scrubtaku @michael214 @Ginkgo58 I talked with our team about this, and actually this is a feature we recently added. So when importing a lesson now, the image is generated automatically via AI instead of just using a standard course image.

I’m just seeing this thread now after creating a new one. I would rather have the default be the course image and not the AI one. Or at least have the option to choose between the two upon importing rather than having to go back in manually to change it.

Oh i see. I would understand if the ai feature was for courses without an image but if we have already selected a image for the course i think it makes more sense to keep that one in my opinion. I hope we at least get that option back to just keep the course the same image that we upload without having to manually do it every time there is a new part added.

The AI images are really worthless. Here is a screenshot of how a couple of them appear in the app for iPhone.

This topic is NOT “solved”. It’s explained, but not solved.

Like the others, there should be an option (default IMO) to keep the course picture - whether the course picture was created by us or generated by AI.

This is ESCPECIALLY annoying because, with the new edit system, we cannot add the lesson picture when we create the lesson. We have to add it afterward, one at a time. When I look at lessons, I should either see the picture of the course, or a manually added picture for that lesson - unless for some crazy reason I wanted random abstract art for a lesson picture.

Agree 100% on everything written here.

I don’t want an AI image. I want the course image.
I would also appreciate the ability to create a new lesson without the lesson automatically opening.

Thanks for your feedback here. At the moment AI images are added by default and it can’t be changed. But I will pass your suggestions to our development team.

Do your developers even use the service??
