When importing an ebook and sharing it as an external source, there is currently no way to bulk edit the Source URL for all lessons within a course.
This becomes very problematic for large courses (e.g. 150 lessons), as the same URL has to be added manually to each lesson.
Ideally, the Source URL should automatically be applied to all lessons in the course, or there should be a bulk edit option to apply it to multiple/all lessons at once.
@PageTurner91 Could you share with me an example of such a course created from a single URL, but containing multiple External lessons? This type of course may not work well, as the originals for External lessons are saved by URL. In other words, this can lead to an issue where users attempting to import chapter 1 will instead get another chapter.
In the past, Librarians have simply added a number to the end of the URL that resolves to the same destination. But this would require manually editing each lesson and adjusting the URL.
I’m referring specifically to lessons created from ebook files (e.g. EPUBs).
In my case, I would use just one Source URL — the website where I obtained the ebook file, e.g.: https://wolnelektury.pl/katalog/lektura/tajemniczy-ogrod/
I understand the concern about multiple External lessons sharing the same URL. However, for a course created from a single EPUB with, say, 150 chapter-based lessons, manually adding or modifying the URL for every lesson is impractical.
That’s why I think it would be useful to either automatically inherit the Source URL from the imported ebook/course or provide a bulk edit option for the Source URL.
