I’ve already uploaded two Dutch lessons, but they’re only in Advanced 1. In on lesson I’ve provided a translation in English (don’t mind the errors), in the other lesson I’ve put some helpful tips in English (see lesson notes).
I agree with Berta, we should add Flemish and Nederlands/Netherlands Dutch.
Addition: For now, you can see in the description whether it’s Flemish or Netherlands Dutch.
Let’s see where this goes, hopefully Czech and Polish can become supported languages soon.
I think this is probably the best course of action for adding new languages, now it’s up to us in the community to drive native speakers of the languages we’re studying here to add content.
Go to the Import page under the Lessons tab and follow the instructions. You will need to input the sound file and the transcript. It is the responsibility of the Provider to arrange the transcript.
Thanks to everyone at LingQ. These new developments are exciting. I had to go open all the Beta languages and listen to any file that I found even though I don’t plan to study those languages just now!
Good job, guys, I am so glad
I have imported 127 lessons so far and I am going to import more…but when I tried to look at the lessons as a different user, I could not find them I found only some lessons
The lesson pages updates only a few times a day. You cannot see new lessons immediately. Except if the lesson is part of a collection and if the collection exists before. You have to wait a few hours and then they are visible. Be patient.
I love the new updates, but I think text on the “profile” page is now too small. I can read it, but it causes me eye strain. Any chance of enlarging it?
@hape
We are working on a fix. In the meantime, try clicking on any part of the language dropdown button except the little triangle, and the language switch should work.
I just want you guys to know that I think you guys are the coolest for this new update… now I just have to hurry up and wait for some Polish content…
I do plan on forcing my wife to contribute to Polish, so Polish learners don’t pay attention to the fear in her voice as she reads stuff for your learning pleasure…
Grzegorz, I have already started using your recordings of Steve’s book. The audio quality is very good, but the volume is low (at least on the laptop I’m using now) and, as I wrote on your wall, I think Advanced 2 is not the right level. Anyway, it’s a good start and I’m looking forward to finding more Polish lessons and some Polish tutors soon.
Chris, I’m waiting for your wife’s contribution in Polish!
Mike, as I wrote on your wall, I plan to share all my Polish student resources from my website http://polish.gregloby.net , so you will find less advanced material soon. Also I think that Advanced 2 level set by the engine for Steve’s book translation is too high :). According to the volume, I’m sorry but I don’t see noticeable difference between volume of my uploads and the original Steve’s recordings, from my point of view it has absolutely accurately level of volume. Maybe someone else could share with us his/her own opinion.
I have just submitted my first writing in Polish! I just wonder why it doesn’t appear on my profile as “mikebond has just submitted X words in Polish”.
I’m not sure if this is a Beta language “feature” or more general:
When I booked out one of the new Dutch lessons into my work space, I noticed it was no longer visible in the library. I’m not sure if this is correct behaviour.
I then decided to delete the same lesson from my work space “to see what would happen”. I’m inquisitive like that. The lesson did not reappear in the library !
I managed to recover the lesson using the link the provider gave in the forum, so there’s no problem now from my side. However, when I then booked out the second lesson from the library, that lesson also deleted itself from the library ! But don’t worry, I won’t be deleting this one from my work space !
