Beta 6.1.13 - Feedback on dismissing word lookup

The new beta, 6.1.13, changed the behavior of how tapping on the screen works, and I’d love for it to change back. This problem is happening in page view, not sentence view.

When I click on a lingq, the definition pops up, which is fine. But then to dismiss the lingq, I am used to tapping on a blank space on the page, which previously worked to dismiss the lingq. Now, however, clicking a blank space on the page triggers a dictionary lookup of the word nearest to that blank space. This results in opening the definition of that word, which is not what I wanted–I wanted to dismiss the previous definition popup. As a result, there is sometimes a cascading effect of popup, popup, popup as I try to dismiss the previous definition.

Can we please revert to the old tapping behavior? Thanks.

@sraevsky I can’t reproduce that. Tapping on the blank space just closes the popup for me. What device are you using?

I’ve noticed the same problem (see screenshots below)

Device: Fairphone 5; app v6.1.13

Thanks, I asked our Android developer to look into this.

Just an update here, our developers were already aware of the mentioned issue and we will push an update with a fix tomorrow. Thanks for your patience.

Thank you for the quick help!
