From time to time I run into bad or weird translations. It’s fine, but do you want them reported? Is that helpful, or just a source of reports that you can’t do much about? Today I was reviewing a raw beginner course in Japanese and the translation was “where did you come from to the hospital”… “from to the hospital” is a confusing direction
Coming? Going? Who can say. I understand why the error was there (both “from” and “to” are in the Japanese, but the “to” in this case is just a grammar marker and not meaningful). Anyhow, do you want reports like this?
@olvenskol When you see a bad translation there is a “Report (Flag)” option to report it.
Where is that? I can’t seem to find it.
Isn’t some translations done by online directories or AI? I assume we have to accept these, sometimes wrong translations?
That’s exactly the reason for my question. If the translations are coming from an external tool (which seems likely) then reporting errors here might just be adding work to the support team for no benefit. Unless they forward the errors on. Anyhow, I would like to know.
There is this Super Long Sentence in sentence mode/view for this lesson, the translation of this sentence is missing too.
The report flag is only accessible after clicking on the 3 dot menu → click on lesson info → click on another 3 dot menu → Report. Might be a good idea to have Report (Flag) buttons in page/sentence view or in the first 3dot menu so it is easier to report and get things fixed in lessons too.

Thanks for your feedback here, everyone. At the moment the best option is to report a bad translation via the report option. We are, of course, always looking into improving things on our end too and trying to have as few bad translations as possible.
