I often upload whole novels or stories into lingq and when I change the image of the course, it does not apply it to all the lessons, do i really have to apply an image to each lesson separately? the one i just upload for example is 38 parts.
Anyone got a tip for this? Thank you.
Correct, if you do not manually upload a lesson image, it will be auto generated by AI.

You can essentially create a course…Import, create a dummy lesson with a little text. Then delete this lesson. Then upload an image for the course. Then go to import an ebook and select this manually course to import into. All the lessons will have the image.
A couple of idiosyncrasies:
The Course image prefers to be 16x9. So if you have an image that is not 16x9, what I’ve done is gone to chatgpt, uploaded the image and asked it to create a 16x9 image and to fill in the left and right with complementing color and/or design. This works really well, and if it’s not quite what you want you can direct chatgpt to change it in the manner you’re wanting.
Now the one minor problem is that the lessons themselves actually prefer a square image, so the 16x9 one will get cropped a little and maybe not quite as desired. If you want to go through extra effort you can then ask chatgpt to create a 9x9 image and upload that to each lesson if you want to make it look extra good, but the cropping of the 16x9 is not all that bad usually.
Ideally, @zoran , it would be great to allow for the upload of course and lesson icons and have the option to apply them across all lessons in the course.

I wonder if there is some condition for the feature? I liked the generated art quite a bit, but I managed to get it only on 2 of the last 4 books I uploaded. My last book, I tried uploading it without the cover hoping to get the generated art per chapters, but as soon as I changed the cover, it’s got applied to all chapters. Would be great to have it as some clear setting.
It certainly makes sense in the case of a book. Other cases where maybe you have a course with new articles it wouldn’t make sense to by default take the course picture. For example I have several courses in mine that are labeled for the different news media (DW, Tageschau, etc). I don’t necessarily want the course image on each, but rather something related to the article.
Ideally they can just make it so you can decide a course picture, and maybe a checkbox of whether you want to apply it across all lessons and any new ones you add. Or if you want it to create one on the fly as you import new lessons. Whatever way allows folks to do what they want with these.

Or even option for a view mode (compact view) with no pictures for lesson. Same as content page for a normal book.
