Anyone who speaks Icelandic: What is the difference?

I don’t know if anyone here can speak it but I think it is similar to Swedish:

“Frá hvaða landi ert þú?” means something along the lines of “Where do you come from” but what does “Frá hvaða landi ertu?” mean? Is it just the same?

This may be a true necro post, but they do mean the same thing. In writing it would be correct to write ‘ert þú’. The other form with ‘ertu’ will be understood by anyone and is used all of the time in speech but isn’t supposed to be written. It’s similar to ‘can not’ becoming ‘can’t’ in speech, though can’t is far more standard in modern English writing than ertu is in Icelandic.

Just to say you’ve replied to someone who no longer is a member of LingQ

You can easily see that from the status of the name: [[James123]] which you can compare with yours
