Android beta 5.2.17
My Samsung S9 has a screen that is taller than most relative to its width. It also has “soft” buttons that are usually hidden but can be swiped up from the bottom when needed. They are always visible, however, with apps that do not take advantage of the additional height of the screen.
This version of the Android app (first I’ve tried) does not use the extra height. It would be really nice if it did, but that’s not critical. What is more of an issue is that in dark mode, the buttons, which are line drawings, not solid, appear black on a dark gray background. This is hard to see normally, and it’s impossible to see when the screen is dimmed (because it’s dark, hence the use of dark mode).
The first time I noticed this I thought the buttons were hidden and refusing to swipe up. That was very frustrating and disconcerting, as I’m sure it will be for other new users with similar devices. Now that I understand the issue, it’s still annoying.
I don’t know if this has been reported previously. I only recently joined the beta and haven’t read through all past threads.
