  1. キャリア
    You can see this word somewhere in the campus of almost all universities in Japan. “キャリアサポートセンター” means a place where students are supposed to get information of jobs. It is pronounced like “carrier”, although it means “career”.

  2. FD
    This does not mean “floppy disk”. It means “faculty development”. Some teachers say that they are too busy to prepare for their own lectures because of the nearly-compulsory FD activities.
